In 1994, he abandoned his studies in sports science and moved to Asia to become a Buddhist monk. Puddicombe returned to Russia after completing a year-long meditation program in Scotland, where he spent four years studying meditation in Moscow. He left his monastic commitment after four years. In 2004, he returned to the United Kingdom to study Circus Arts in London. At the same time, he started his own private meditation practice in the city. Through his personal practice, Andy tries to make meditation and mindfulness accessible, meaningful and useful to as many people as possible.
