Actor Jon Voight, father of Angelina Jolie, publicly criticized his daughter’s recent comments about Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.
Jolie has slammed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for “deliberately” killing children in Gaza airstrikes, to which Voight responded by calling her statement a “lie” and saying, “The Israeli army must protect your land.”

In a video statement shared on social media, the 84-year-old actor expressed his dismay at Jolie’s statement, branding the “Maleficent” actress’ comments a “lie” and claiming he was unaware of the situation.
Jolie previously accused Israel of “deliberately bombing children, women, families, depriving them of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid” in violation of international law.
“I’m very disappointed that my daughter, like most people, doesn’t understand God’s honor, God’s truth,” Voight said. “This is about destroying the history of God’s land, the Holy Land, the land of the Jews, This is justice for God’s children in the holy land.”
He continued, “The Israeli army must protect your land, your people. This is war. It won’t be what the left thinks it is; it cannot be civil now.”

Continuing his speech, the “Midnight Cowboy” actor denounced the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel, which Israeli officials said killed 1,400 people.
“Israel is being attacked by inhumane violence against innocent babies, mothers, fathers, grandparents,” Voight said.
“You idiots call Israel a problem, you should look at yourself and ask who am I? What, me? And ask God if I learn the truth, or am I lied to and follow others? People who understand the truth see lies.”
“These animals want to exterminate Jews, Christians,” he said. “They see that the Palestinian people are not being neglected financially. They have been given a huge infusion of money, which they have not shared with the people. They made weapons instead, for their anger.”
“The people of Israel care about the people. They love and appreciate. Something these animals do not understand. Justice will be served.”
Angelina Jolie Calls for a Ceasefire
Voight’s comments came after Jolie stepped forward to demand a ceasefire in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The actress expressed her deep concern and dismay at the growing violence, stressing the urgent need for life-saving action.
Jolie stated that she was “sickened and outraged by the terrorist attacks in Israel” that caused “the deaths of many innocent civilians.”
He continued, “What is happening in Israel is an act of terrorism. But that cannot justify the innocent lives lost in the bombing of civilians in Gaza who have nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, not even the human right to cross the border or seek refuge.”

She would later lose Bertrand to ovarian cancer in 2007 and claimed that Voight’s affair “changed her life,” adding that “It burned her dream of a family life. But she still loves being a mother.”
