Career
Body builder
Anil started working out in a gym in 2009. Anil Gochikar received professional training from Alok Behera in Mumbai. The first time Anil participated in a bodybuilding event was in 2012 when he participated in the 50th Mr. Odisha State Senior Bodybuilding Championship. The weight limit is 65kg so Anil had to go through an all-out run to shed 400 gms because he weighed 64.5 Kg. Anil won the gold medal in this event. Anil later participated in various national and international bodybuilding competitions.
Hotel and Gym Owner
Anil and Damodar Gochhikar run their father’s hotel ‘Hotel Gochhikar’ in Puri district, Odisha, since their father’s death in 2006. Hotel Gochhikar has a gym, Gocchikar Life Style- GYM, run by the Gochhikar brothers.
Controversy
In January 2022, Anil staged a dharna near the Puri Collector’s office with his mother, accusing the administration of forcibly evicting them from their building near the Jagannath Temple without paying compensation. According to Anil, their building was forcibly demolished, while the case is still pending in the Orissa High Court.
