Anita Dongre was born on Thursday, 3 October 1963 (age 56 years; as in 2019) in Bandra, West Mumbai. His zodiac sign is Libra. His family has roots in Jaipur. Anita’s father moved to Mumbai just a few months before her birth. She was interested in fashion from a very young age. He was inspired by the women in his home who used to create beautiful things using raw cloth. He graduated in commerce from NM college Mumbai. After that, Dongre enrolled herself in Mumbai’s SNDT University to pursue a degree in fashion. After that, he did an internship with the royal family of Dhrangadhra, erstwhile Gujarat.

Career
After completing her studies, Anita Dongre started designing clothes for a local boutique. She has been supplying clothes to boutiques for around 12 years. After a few years, Anita started experimenting with western clothes and created a collection of clothes for young women, but, no store agreed to accept them. So, that’s when she decided to sell it herself, and Anita Dongre Designs was born. She started the business with her younger sister, Meena Sehra, from a small area of 300 square feet in 1995. Her fashion house, House of Anita Dongre, patronizes four different brands, namely, DAN (western wear), Global Desi (ethnic wear), Anita Dongre (bridal, couture prêt, menswear), and Anita Dongre Grassroot (organic clothing). Apart from the clothing brand, Anita has also launched a jewelery brand named “Pink City” under her fashion house.
