Anthony was born in Yalta, Ukrainian SSR, and Soviet Union. Anatoliy Vladimirovich Fedorov is his name. His father is Vladimir Fedorov, and his mother is Natalia Fedorov. When he was nine, he and his older brother Denis moved to the United States, first to Florida and then to Brooklyn, New York, before landing in the Philadelphia neighborhood of Trevose, Pennsylvania. He had a tracheotomy as a child due to a congenital abnormality of his windpipe, from which the wound is still visible.

Fedorov appeared on American Idol during the spring of 2005. He was famous among American Idol auditionees for performing duets, which all three judges believed to be his best approach. Fedorov was voted out of the competition on May 11, 2005, after performing “I’m already There” by Lonestar and “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes during Country Music/Gamble and Huff week . Many said that her performance of “If You Don’t Know Who I Am By Now” was one of her best, with her staying on-key throughout the song and receiving praise from the judges.
