Anthony Rapp and his longtime partner Ken Ithiphol have officially become parents!
The couple’s relationship has been on the rise since they started dating in 2016 after a leadership coach snuck into the actor’s DMs. Since then, they’ve had many ups and downs, finally getting engaged in 2019. Now, the couple is celebrating the arrival of their first child together via a surrogate.

Rapp shared the great news of his baby boy’s arrival on Instagram with a cute photo of himself, Ithiphol, and their newborn. The swaddled tot has a smile on her face as she rests in the crook of Ithiphol’s arm, with the “Dazed and Confused” star’s arm on her partner’s shoulder.
“Ken and I are so excited to share that our family has grown! [Purple heart and star emojis],” the “Star Trek: Discovery” actor began under the snap. Revealing the baby’s name, Rapp continued:
“Our son, Rai Larson Ithiphol, was brought into the world on Friday, December 2, 2022, by a very generous surrogate, for whom we are eternally grateful. (Rai is pronounced like “rai” or “chai.”) We love it so much.”
Soon after the “Adventures in Babysitting” actress dropped the baby news, her comments section was flooded with messages and congratulations. While “Star Trek” co-star Ethan Peck simply congratulated his new parents, his “Rent” co-star Daphne Rubin-Vega said, “HALLELUJAH !! Welcome home, Rai!”
Former “Law & Order” star Camryn Manheim enthused, “Welcome, little one. I hope you can feel the ocean of love that surrounds you. Can’t wait to smell you. [red heart emoji].” Celebrity drag queen Jackie Cox says she can’t wait to meet him.

Rapp and Ithiphol sparked similar reactions when their exes announced their engagement on Instagram in November 2019. Along with a photo of Ithiphol showing off her ring, the “School Ties” star wrote:
“So something happened tonight. I asked @teerakeni if she would marry me and she said yes. I am very happy and I am very excited to share this news.”
Later in 2020, the 51-year-old gave another update with a photo of him and his partner gazing lovingly at each other. She wrote, “As you know, I’m married to this amazing and beautiful man. Thank you @colagrossico for taking such good care of us during our engagement shoot.”
Although the post didn’t show if they walked down the aisle, fans were more than ready to congratulate them. One fan gushed in the comments, “Beautiful couple, beautiful people.

Broadway Star Loses Legal Battle Against Kevin Spacey

The civil legal drama between Rapp and fellow Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey finally ended last month. The Blast shared that the sexual battery case began in 2020 when the complainant sued the “House of Cards” actress for inviting her to a 1986 party at her New York home and attempting to molest her.
The incident is said to have happened when Rapp was still a teenager and Spacey was an adult. The $40 million suit ended on October 20 when a NY jury found the 63-year-old not guilty of the charges and dismissed the case.
Spacey avoided speaking to the press following the verdict, leaving the courtroom with his bodyguard in tow before he drove off in his SUV. As it turned out, his lawyer Jennifer Keller had no problem expressing her gratitude to the press for the jury’s decision.
As for Rapp, he issued a statement about Twitter which reads in part, “Bringing this lawsuit has always been about shining a light, as part of a larger movement against all forms of sexual violence.”
He then pledged to “continue to support efforts to ensure that we can live and work in a world free from sexual violence of any kind.” Rapp ended his statement by expressing his hope that survivors will continue to “tell their stories and fight for accountability.”
