A billboard on Route 80 in Bergen County, NJ that reads, “Oh, don’t be naive. Hamas will cut off your head too,” was revealed after police received more than 100 calls with complaints about it.
“This anti-Hamas billboard on Route 80 in Bogota borough caused over 100 calls to the police before it was taken down by the organizers,” Shlomo Schorr, associate director of the New Jersey office of Agudath Israel of America, posted on X.
The sign was reportedly put up by the organization JewBelong, which “calls out Jew-haters,” according to its website.
“Our signature pink and white billboards, billboard trucks, website, and strong social media presence confront antisemitism and support Joyous Judaism,” the website says.
Bogota police said they were aware of the sign and there were no criminal violations related to it, NJ Advance Media reported.

“Our police department works closely with county, state and federal agencies to ensure the safety of our community,” the department said in a Facebook post, noting it has no control over the sign because it is privately owned. “There is no threat to our community and we are investigating the matter to ensure that all community members remain safe.”
Another JewBelong billboard, located in California, was recently graffitied.
Foundation to Combat Antisemitism post a picture of the mark on the X, who said, “We are only 75 years since the gas chambers. So no, a billboard calling out antisemitism is not an overreaction.”

A similar sign hangs on a building on the Queens Expressway side of Brooklyn.
