Anupama Nadella’s father, KR Venugopal, is an eminent retired IAS officer, who worked under Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s ministry. The ‘rupees 2 per kg of rice’ scheme for the underprivileged and below the poverty line was introduced in India under the leadership of KR Venugopal in 2008.

Birth of Zain Nadella
Anupama Nadella noticed that in the thirty-sixth week of her pregnancy, there was no movement of the child in her womb. The couple decided to see a doctor immediately. Shortly after her examination, her caesarean section was performed by the doctor. She gave birth to a son, who did not cry when he was born. They named him Zain. Zain was born with cerebral palsy and was kept at Children’s Hospital in Seattle under intensive care and observation. The doctor stated during the delivery of baby Zain that he had suffocated in the womb, and that it would cause him cerebral palsy for the rest of his life. Anupama gave up her career goals to take care of her special children.
