Career
Anupriya Goenka came to Mumbai in 2008. In Mumbai, she started working in the corporate sector, where she found herself drawn to theatre. Later, he took a house in Thane, and his family followed him to the city of dreams. At the same time, he also started acting in the theater. However, he had to change his career between acting and the corporate sector. She started acting in commercials, and in 2013, came into limelight when she became the face of the UPA Government’s “Bharat Nirman” ad campaign.

Controversy
In 2019, Anupriya and the makers of the web series ‘Panchali’ were involved in a dispute; as the makers of the web series accused Anupriya of being unprofessional for not promoting the show. After the allegations by the makers of the show, Anupriya released her statement regarding the controversy. In an interview, sharing his side of the story, he said,
The first three intimate scenes will be shot in silhouette and low light and none of the intimate scenes will exceed 30 seconds each. During the filming of the first 3 scenes, as if they were fully lit, I was once again assured that in the broadcast the scene would be dimmed and during editing the scene would not go beyond what was discussed. Again to realize that once again I was manipulated and because each scene was released for a period of 3 to 4 minutes in bright light. I was disappointed and admitted that I did not want to promote the project, but after discussing with Mr. Sushant Singh (HEAD OF LOVE), I agree to promote this series. My PR team, even follow up with their PR team for PR strategy, dates, always. Asked for details of interviews they planned with journalists but nothing was ever shared with us. They just want me to take a picture with CEO Ullu to be placed on medianet in TIMES. Despite all the bad blood I am willing to promote the series, but I cannot be forced to promote the channel in particular or act as their brand ambassador.”

- He was born in Kanpur, but after a few years of his birth, his family moved to Delhi, due to their failed business in Kanpur.
- After finishing high school, he worked in a call center and then in the corporate sector. Meanwhile, he got an opportunity to attend a month-long workshop by the National School of Drama (NSD), and it piqued his interest in theatre.
- After completing his schooling, at the age of 18, he started helping his father in his business. The business failed, which led him to come to Jaipur with his family and work in the corporate sector and become the breadwinner of the family.
- In 2008, he visited his maternal grandparents’ house in Mumbai for a month and a half for business purposes. He instantly fell in love with the city and decided to work there, and the rest is history.
- Indian actor, theater director, and acting coach Neeraj Kabi was her mentor. Anupriya met Kabi during a workshop by NSD and started learning acting from him. Speaking about it, he said,
Mr. Neeraj, was my first acting teacher. One could say that he introduced me to acting. I remember how I went to his class from my corporate job, always afraid of being late.. because he wouldn’t have it and how I left at 530pm was the most confusing thing for my boss.. At that time it was just something I did for exploring something different.. to search for soul.. never considered it as a career and Neeraj sir made me fall in love with acting..”

- He also auditioned for the lead role in Salman Khan’s film Sultan, but failed to make the film. Speaking about it, he said,
I auditioned for ‘Sultan’ for the lead role in 2015. My audition was very detailed as it was for the female lead. They took about 10-11 auditions for that over a period of 2 weeks. It is very busy and tiring for me. My base was in line with the casting team even though it didn’t work out.”
- He is all set to make his acting debut with Rohan Sippy’s 24-episode infinity series “Yakshi.” The pilot episode for the show was shot, but somehow, the show got shelved.
- He credits Pradeep Sarkar (Writer & Director) who chose him for a political ad campaign, for his early success in the industry. Speaking of him, he said,
It was a sanitary napkin ad by Pradeep Sarkar from where he chose me for that political ad campaign. It was Pradeep Sarkar who instilled confidence in me and changed my perception of Bollywood. Initially, I was scared of Bollywood but after working with dada (Pradeep Sarkar) I felt that there are good people in this industry. Dada played an important role in my early success.”
- He is an active philanthropist and is associated with the organization ‘Down to Earth’. In an interview, he revealed that one of his brothers has cerebral palsy, therefore, he wanted to work with the special children. He went on to state that he also wanted to work for women.
