In 1988, Anuradha Patel was married to Indian actor Kanwaljit Singh. The couple has two sons named Sidharth, a musician, and Aditya, a painter. Anuradha and Kanwaljit Singh have a daughter named Mariam Singh Barakzoy. In 2009, they publicly announced that Mariam Barakzoy was a member of their family. Soon after the news spread on many social media platforms, Kanwaljit Singh clarified in a media interview that they did not legally adopt Mariam, but she was a member of their family. He said,
We have a daughter Mariam Barakzoy who now calls herself Mariam Singh Barakzoy.”

I don’t know how Mariam got my email id and wrote me that she thinks me as her father. Actually, he has a stepfather who doesn’t treat him well.”
Afterwards, Anuradha and Kanwaljit Singh explain that Mariam has a stepfather who doesn’t treat her well, and she likes to call Kanwaljit her father. Since then, they both took care of Mariam’s needs. However, he claims that Mariam works in Santiago in the United States and is an independent girl.
