Appurv Gupta is an Indian comedian, YouTuber and entrepreneur listed in the Forbes India 100 Celebrity Shortlist for 2015. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Hindi language stand in India.

Career
From the beginning of his course, Appurv had realized that he did not want to pursue a career in engineering, so he started looking for alternative career options. In an interview, he said,
In the first year itself, I had realized that engineering was not my cup of tea, but I completed my studies as my parents wanted.
As he explores different professions, his brother advises him to join a non-profit public speaking organization called Toastmasters International, where people of all ages come together to teach and practice public speaking techniques. While reminiscing about his days at Toastmasters, he said,
I started presenting at the Toastmasters Club. Over the next three years, I gave several performances. Some people tell me I’m funny, which motivates me. I tried my hand at funny sayings. Then someone told me I should try my hand at stand-up comedy.”
While working with Toastmasters International, he performed around 1000 stages, inaugurated clubs in different locations, took many leadership roles. Even after completing his studies, Appurv received various job offers from leading MNCs, he decided to venture into the stand-up comedy business. Later, he presented around 700 shows which included shows in some leading IT companies like Microsoft, Adobe, American Express and Airtel. In 2014, he came into limelight with his first solo show ‘AppurView-Laugh With an Engineer’ aired on NDTV Prime in the show, The Rising Stars of Comedy with Appurv Gupta.
After that, he presented various other solo shows like ‘RelationShip Or RelationShit’ and ‘Laugh with an Engineer 2.0,’ ‘Kaafi Wild Hai,’ etc. On 15 January 2016, Appurv started the web series ‘Mudde Ki Baat’ where he jokes. presents his views on topics such as startups in India, cricket, Bollywood, and Chetan Bhagat.
In 2019, Appurv Gupta opened the Central Club at the Akshara Theatre, New Delhi, where open mics, as well as full shows, are organized. He has amassed over 400,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel extensively touring India and abroad to perform his slow-motion shows.
