Benayoum began her journey in pageantry in August 2020 by participating in the Miss Pays d’Aix 2020 pageant. Her victory in this event paved her way to the Miss Provence 2020 pageant later that year. In the Miss France 2021 competition, Benayoum made it to the finals, advancing first to the top fifteen and finally to the top five. Defending first runner-up position after the winner, Amandine Petit. Benayoum marks the second year in a row that a representative from Provence has achieved this honor.

Miss World France 2021

In October 2021, Sylvie Tellier and the Miss France Committee appointed Benayoum as Miss World France 2021. This gave her the privilege to represent France at the Miss World 2021 pageant. The decision was made because Amandine Petit was unable to participate due to her commitment at Miss France 2022 to crown her successor. Meanwhile, Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, will represent the country at Miss Universe 2021 during the same period. Miss World 2021 held in March resulted in only 40 contestants being invited back to compete. Target of Anti-Semitic Comments

After the Miss France pageant, Benayoum, who is of Israeli descent, faced a surge of anti-Semitic comments on social media after sharing her Israeli heritage during the pageant. Disturbing comments like “Hitler forgot about this one” and “Don’t vote for the Jews” appeared. The incident attracted media attention in France.
