Aravind KP was born on Sunday, 8 December 1985 (age 35 years; in 2020) in Udupi, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Arvind has been a motorcycle enthusiast since childhood. When he was a child, he used to sneak out of his house on his father’s scooter, ride the scooter across his town, and then return home without getting caught. His interest in motorcycle racing sparked when he was studying in class 10 and went to watch the Manipal Supercross motorcycle racing event, where TVS Racers would take on Yamaha riders. Before that, he had only seen motorcycle racing on television, and this was his first time watching it live. Witnessing the thrilling sport directly sparked the thought in him that he too could be like one of those racers. The dream journey started that day. Now, after a career of over 15 years, Aravind KP has successfully made a name for himself in motorcycle racing, both nationally and internationally.

Career
KP started his professional motorcycle racing career in 2006 by participating in national level motorcycle racing competitions. He was 19 at the time. In the same year, motorcycle company TVS noticed him during the 2006 Gulf Dirt Track National Championship and signed him for the upcoming race series. It is not a paid contract; however, he gets a chance to race for free. While honing his racing skills, TVS awarded him a three-year paid contract followed by a two-year renewal. In 2011, he became the only Indian motorcycle rider to win an overseas motocross championship. In 2015, he participated in the Maruthi Suzuki Raid De Himalaya (2500 Kms) and won all the off-road races except the Sir.@Shyam Kothari race event. In the OiLibyan Assembly, held in Morocco in 2016, he ranked 25th. In 2019, he became the second Indian motorcyclist after CS Santosh (placed 36th in the 2016 Dakar Rally) to finish the Dakar Rally, a motorcycle rally organized annually by the Amaury Sports Organisation. The Dakar Rally is considered one of the toughest rallies in motorcycle racing.
Throughout his career, Arvind has emerged victorious in more than 18 national championships, including dirt track, rally and motocross.

- KP has a scorpion tattoo on his right tricep and a star tattoo on his left shoulder.
- Ahead of the class 12 board exam, KP was promised by his parents that if he scored above 80% in the board exam, they would buy him a racing bike. KP went on to score 84.7% and, as a result, was rewarded with a Yamaha RX-135.
- In an interview, KP revealed his bond with TVS Motor Company and said that the brand has been by his side even during his tough times. In 2012, KP seriously injured himself during a racing competition in Sri Lanka. At that time, his contract with TVS was due for renewal. Doctors have said that his career is over, given the seriousness of the injury. At that time, when the threat of his career ending was hanging over his head, TVS Motor Company showed faith in him. The TVS Motor Company official bought the contract paper at the hospital and signed it with the company, regardless of the time it would take him to get back on track.
