Despite the scandal surrounding their budding romance, the lovebirds seem to have taken their relationship to the next level of meeting the parents.
Over the weekend, the pop singer and her boyfriend were seen spending time with her dad.

Grande and Slater spent the holidays bonding with their families. The couple was spotted in New York City on Tuesday enjoying a rare dinner with the “Positions” singer’s father, Ed Butera, and a girlfriend.

A source claimed of the outing, “They had dinner with dad and his family at his family’s favorite Italian restaurant.” The insider went on to add that the group went on to catch Slater’s new Broadway musical, “Spamalot” after dinner.
An insider explained to Page Six, “They like to support each other in their work… when she’s done with work, she likes to go to the theater when she can.”
Pictures of the couple while out and about went viral on the internet. In the viral photo, Grande and Slater are seen riding in a black luxury SUV in matching black outfits. The Nickelodeon alum dressed to the nines for the event in a mini skirt paired with a button-down sweater with fur-lined sleeves and semi-sheer tights.
She accessorized the all-black look with a hat, Chanel purse and simple black heels. Slater, on the other hand, opted for a more casual look consisting of Nike pants, a tracksuit jacket and a pair of black sneakers. The Broadway star placed his hand gently around Grande’s waist as they entered the establishment.
Butera seems to love her daughter and her new man as she was seen laughing while chatting with them. Recall that the couple’s romance made headlines in July amid both parties ending their respective marriages.
Grande ended her nearly two-year marriage to ex-husband Dalton Gomez, with sources claiming their lives were “divergent” after the pandemic caused a rift. Instead, Slater gave up on his wife and mother of his son Lilly Jay.

The “Side to Side” singer and Slater have been plagued with cheating rumors, with sources even claiming that they went double with their now ex-partners. It also didn’t help that Jay blasted Grande for not being “Not a girly girl” and seemingly destroying her home.
Regardless, the couple didn’t bother showing off their romance during their Disney World date and allegedly moved in together to start their life together.

While the “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical” star seems to have gotten the stamp of approval from his girlfriend’s father, the same can’t be said for Grande’s friends.
According to reports, the speed of her romance with Slater caused tension in her inner circle as they worried she was being impulsive with her decisions, especially choosing to start living together right after their divorce.
Insiders stated that the “Sam & Cat” alum “fell hard and fast.” The source added, “That’s him. Everyone’s telling her to slow down before she makes another mistake – but she’s a girl who can’t stay single for long.”
The whistleblower also claims that Grande’s frequent appearances for her boyfriend’s Broadway show, “Spamalot” have also caused controversy.
