Controversy
- In September 2013, he was arrested for assaulting a journalist, when a journalist asked him about the divorce case with his wife Koyel. Arijit Singh said that he only attacked the camera, not the cameraman; because he didn’t stop recording even though Arijit asked him to do so. The Behrampore CJM court granted him bail later.
- In May 2016, he posted a letter asking Salman Khan to keep (Arijit’s) version of “Jag Ghoomeya” in the film Sultan. However, he deleted the post after a few hours. The possible cause of the enmity between the two seems to be from an incident at the Star Guild Awards Function 2014. Arijit was called on stage to receive an award, Salman had just performed his performance on “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo,” and presented the award to Arijit. Arijit came on stage saying “Aap logo ne toh sula diya,” to which Salman probably felt insulted.
