A man who claimed to be part of Robert F. Kennedy’s security detail — while carrying a gun and extra ammunition — was quickly taken into custody by authorities after appearing at a California event featuring the presidential candidate, authorities said.
“The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with a loaded pistol and a spare magazine was carrying a US Marshal badge on a lanyard and a federal ID on a belt clip,” Kennedy said early Saturday on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “He identified himself as a member of my security detail.”
Kennedy posted an image of the man, who was wearing a black shirt with a white symbol reading “Emergency Medical Services.”
Adrian Paul Aispuro, 44, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and held on $35,000 bail.
The incident occurred at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles Friday evening, where Kennedy was delivering a speech in honor of Hispanic Heritage month.
Kennedy credited Gavin de Becker and Associates, the elite security firm that controlled him, with flagging individuals carrying firearms.

“Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until the LAPD arrived to make an arrest. I also thank the LAPD for its quick response,” he said.
Kennedy, a noted conspiracy theorist, challenged President Biden for the Democratic nomination, making him a headache for Democrats and a comic hero for Republicans — who have donated heavily to his campaign.
Both his father, Robert F. Kennedy Sr. and his uncle, former president Kennedy, were assassinated and the younger Kennedy said he was “aware” of the possibility that he, too, had been targeted. He has been denied Secret Service protection by the White House – a situation he has repeatedly complained about.

Aispuro was arrested just 24 miles from where Kennedy Jr. spoke on Friday.
“I’m still holding out hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to have been denied a request for protection by the White House,” he said.
The Kennedy campaign, which polls suggest once had the support of one in five Democratic primary voters, stumbled badly over the summer after the candidate was caught in a video floating the possibility that the coronavirus had been an “ethnically targeted” bioweapon designed to save Jews and Chinese people. many He was later denounced by some of his family members.
