A gunman was chased away by an armed bystander after he opened fire outside a supermarket in North Carolina, police said.
Mirza Zukanovic, 35, is accused of shooting two people Saturday night following a domestic dispute in the Lowes Foods parking lot in Wake Forest Crossing, WRAL News reported.
As Zukanovic opened fire on the two, a bystander with a license to carry a firearm pulled out his own gun and opened fire on the gunman.
Zukanovic then fled, but became distracted while driving and crashed his car minutes later on nearby Stadium Drive.
Zukanovic was taken into custody without further incident and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in city limits, driving while impaired, no operator’s license, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to maintain lane. control.
No one was injured in the shooting, and no property was reported damaged, Wake Forest police said.
Zukanovic was booked into the Wake County Detention Center and is being held without bail.
