Armed robbers’ getaway car stolen by another crook in ‘ironic twist:’ police

Call it a car case right away.

A trio of armed robbers were ransacking a check-cashing business in Colorado when another crook used the opportunity to swipe their car, police said.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday at Hi Lo Check Cashing on Monaco Street in the Denver suburb of Commerce City.

While the masked bandits were busy robbing storefronts, they ended up receiving what the Commerce City Police Department described as “an unexpected and ironic twist.”

“The fourth criminal stole their vehicle,” police crowed in a schadenfreude-filled Facebook post.

Police stated that the vehicle may have been stolen.

“We don’t know,” the investigator admitted. “If we get a solid description of it, we’ll release it here.”

Two of the armed robbery suspects were quickly chased and arrested by officers who rushed to the scene. A third remain independent.

No one was injured in the daylight robbery, police said.
