Democrats want to “improve every city in America,” according to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The remarks were made during a recent installment of SiriusXM’s “Literally! With Rob Lowe” when Lowe asked the 76-year-old “Terminator” star and former Republican governor of California what it means to be a Republican and what it means to be a Democrat.
Lowe led the discussion by referring to Republicans, noting that former Rep. David Drier, R-Calif., characterized the party’s platform as consisting of “no particular order, a strong military, low taxes, less government, more personal freedom,” noting there was one more he forgot to mention.
“Strong law enforcement,” Schwarzenegger chimed in, in a clip flagged by Mediaite.
Lowe moved the discussion across the aisle, asking Schwarzenegger what it means to be a Democrat.
“Destroy your city,” he replied.
“That’s what the Democrats will say. We will destroy the city. We want to improve every city in America. That seems to be the theme right now.”
“Why is that?” Lowe asked.

“I don’t know,” he replied.
The Hollywood legend has historically been outspoken on a number of issues, including climate change, the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021, and masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Schwarzenegger also made news recently after appearing on “The View,” where he called for comprehensive immigration reform and secure borders.

“You have to really have comprehensive immigration reform, and you have to look at this immigration problem holistically. You can, first of all, I strongly believe have boundaries that no one can cross. That’s number one for me,” he said.
“Number two, what’s important is that we have visas for those who want to work in the United States, so they don’t have to work illegally. It is false, we need workers here,” he said, answering co-host Ana Navarro.
Schwarzenegger added that the current immigration system is “set up to commit crimes,” calling for a bipartisan effort to secure the reforms the system needs.
He specifically cited concerns about terrorism and drug cartels as reasons he supports strengthened border security.
Schwarzenegger served as California’s 38th governor for eight years after claiming victory in a recall election in 2003.
