Arundhati Reddy is an Indian Cricketer who plays as an all-rounder for the Indian Women’s cricket team. She made her debut for the Indian women’s national cricket team in the Twenty20 series held in Sri Lanka against the Sri Lankan Women’s National Cricket Team on 19 September 2018.

Arundhati Bhagya Reddy was born on Thursday 10 April 1997 (age 25 years; in 2022) in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. His zodiac sign is Aries. He completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket, Secunderabad, Telangana. He started playing Gully cricket with his brother and the kids in his area and after realizing his talent, his mother enrolled him in an academy. After spending time at the academy, he was sent to attend a camp at the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and it turned out to be monumental in his career. He was coached by Savita Nirala at HCA and he started playing for the Hyderabad team during this period and soon established himself as a key player in the team.

Arundhati represented Hyderabad women’s cricket team, South Central Zone team, India A Women, India B Women, Railways women’s cricket team, Supernovas and Trailblazers at the domestic level.
In 2023, she was bought by Delhi Capitals as part of their squad to compete in the first edition of the Women’s Premier League. He was twelve years old when he made his List-A debut in 2010. He was appointed as the captain of the Hyderabad U-19 team when he was fifteen years old. She soon cemented her place in the Hyderabad women’s cricket team, however, during the initial phase of her career, she lacked consistency in performance and found it difficult to earn her international call-up. In 2017, she joined the Railways women’s cricket team and became a key member of the South Central Railway team alongside her idol, Mithali Raj.
During the 2017-2018 season, he took 23 wickets and scored 229 runs from 14 matches across age groups and formats. She also recorded her first five-wicket haul against the Rajasthan U-23 women’s cricket team. His impressive form did not go unnoticed on the national circuit and he received his first India A call-up. Reddy was able to give a sustained performance and earned a spot in the Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy where she defeated Mithali. In 2019, she bowled ten overs and got a wicket and also scored a half-century against the Delhi women’s cricket team. She was part of the Railways women’s cricket team, which won the BCCI Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal One Day Trophy (50 overs) in 2023. In the pre-quarter final against Tamil Nadu, she put in a brilliant performance and took 4 wickets for 30 runs.

In May 2021, Arundhati Reddy was named in the India Women’s One Day International squad for the three ODI series against the England Women’s cricket team. However, he did not feature for India in the series.
T20
In August 2018, the BCCI announced that Arundhati Reddy was in the Indian women’s national cricket team squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. She made her T20 international debut on 19 September 2018 against the Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket team in Sri Lanka. It was a five match series and he played in all five matches and put in a solid performance. In his debut match at the FTZ Sports Complex, Katunayake, Sri Lanka he took the wicket of Yasoda Mendis, at an economy of 12.33.
From five matches against Sri Lanka, he took four wickets, and three catches and also made three runs. With a string of positive performances, she was able to catch the attention of the selectors and was named in the Indian Women’s squad for the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 held in the West Indies. She played in the opening match of the tournament, where India Women emerged victorious against New Zealand Women, and she took the wicket of Suzie Bates. Reddy bowled at an economy of 9.00 and gave away 36 runs from 4 overs.
She bowled four overs, including a maiden over in India’s match against the Pakistan Women’s cricket team and she also took the wicket of Ayesha Zafar. After the ICC Women’s World T20, she was included in the Indian Women’s squad for their tour of New Zealand. He took four wickets in three matches, however, New Zealand won the series. In March 2019, Arundhati Reddy was included in the India Women’s squad for India Women’s tour of England. He scored 18 runs off 19 balls and also bowled four overs in the first match. He was not included in the starting eleven for the next two matches in the series and England won the series unbeaten. In October 2019, she was included in the squad for the South Africa Women’s tour of India. However, he was only named in the starting lineup for the last game of the series. He scored 22 runs off 25 balls and was the second highest scorer for India behind Veda Krishnamurthy. He also took the wicket of Mignon du Preez.
Arundhati was included in India’s squad for the 2020 Australia women’s Tri-Nation Series, and she took two wickets. In January 2020, she was named in the India Women’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s World T20 held in Australia. Arundhati was included in the starting line-up for the first two matches and she took two wickets in India’s match against the Bangladesh women’s team. However, he was dropped from the starting line-up after the first two matches and he did not feature in the remainder of the World Cup campaign. In March 2021, she was included in the Indian squad for India’s South Africa Women’s tour and took two wickets. In June 2021, he was included in the Indian squad for the England tour.

In May 2021, Arundhati Reddy was named in the India Women’s Test squad for the one-off match against the England Women’s cricket team. But he was not included in the main eleven.
Women’s T20 Challenge
He was part of the Supernovas squad led by Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur between 2019 and 2021. Supernovas won the title in 2019, however, he did not play in any match. In 2022, he was part of the Trailblazers squad led by Smriti Mandhana.
Women’s Premier League (WPL)
He remained unsold during the first round of WPL Auction 2023. Later, he was signed by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 30 Lakhs for the season 2023-2024.
Salary
He is entitled to a salary of Rs. 10 Lakhs per annum through its Grade C central contract with the BCCI. In 2023, Delhi Capitals bought him for Rs. 30 Lakhs for Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023.

- India’s veteran bowler Jhulan Goswami announced his retirement as a professional player on the same day Reddy received his first international call-up. After India’s tour to Sri Lanka ended, Indian women’s national cricket team coach Ramesh Powar said,
I think he (Reddy) is a bowler who can replace Jhulu (Jhulan Goswami) in the future,”
