On Saturday evening, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis sat down in front of the cameras to deliver their apologies after facing a backlash on social media. “We recognize the pain caused by the character letter we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,” Ashton began.
“We support the victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future,” added Mila.
They explained that Masterson’s family had contacted them several months ago and asked them to write a letter of character to represent the person they had known for 25 years so the judge could take that into account when deciding his sentence. “The letter was not written to question the validity of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s decision,” added Mila.
