Asia wa Charles, better known as Asia Namirembe, a popular Ugandan TikTok celebrity, died on January 27, 2023, at the age of 36. Rogers Sebunya of SB4 Media confirmed the news, asking everyone to pray for the well-being of his family members. Asian relatives reported that he had stomach problems and toothache for a week. When things got worse, he was rushed to the hospital and needed emergency surgery. He did not survive the procedure, however, and was pronounced dead on Friday morning.
After his passing, his friend Charles expressed his grief in a video recording during the Asian memorial by NBS entertainment writer Kayz. Namirembe was described as his closest friend, and he stated that he will miss him because he had an interesting personality and was well liked by everyone in the area he visited. Charles later said that they are planning a few more concerts.

Many famous social media stars attended the funeral of Asia wa Charles On January 30.
Asia was buried on January 30, 2023, in Nakasoga village, Kirumba sub-district, Kyotera District. Famous social media stars attended the funeral, as did Frank Abaho, the President of the TikTokers Association in Uganda. He praised all the TikTok stars in attendance for changing their schedules to pay tribute to Asia.
Several additional celebrities were present during the funeral.
