Disturbing footage shows a man hitting a 60-year-old woman more than 50 times with his own cane in a Harlem subway station.
The attack happened just before 3:30 a.m. Friday as the woman was walking at the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue station, NYPD officials told The Post.
The a shocking two-minute video screening the unknown man lunged at the woman with an umbrella and the woman tried to fight him with her stick.
The suspect was able to grab the woman’s cane as she fell to the ground screaming.
The man then hit the woman with his own cane more than 50 times on the head, stomach, legs, arms, back and hands so hard that the wooden instrument collapsed.
The woman, who was behind him at the time, managed to grab the rest of his cane from the madman, who then started hitting him on the head with his fist.

In the shocking video, the man continues to throw punches and screams at the stunned woman as his own pants begin to fall down with the effort.
The woman lay motionless on the ground for several seconds until the suspect kicked her several times before the video cut off.
The NYPD responded to a 911 call about the attack at about 3:30 a.m., sources told The Post, but when the video was shot, no MTA workers, police or subway riders intervened.
An NYPD source also told The Post the 60-year-old woman did not know the suspect.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is believed to be in stable condition.
The unidentified suspect fled before police arrived. It is unclear how the dispute between the two began.
There were no reports of arrests Monday night and the investigation is ongoing, NYPD officials said.
Violent incidents on the New York subway continued, with a train operator beaten by an unhinged man holding a pipe and another commuter stabbed by unknown people in separate attacks last weekend in August.
