Auburn University hunts for suspect who attacked woman headed to campus

Auburn University in Alabama is searching for a suspect accused of pushing a woman walking onto campus and assaulting her.

The attack, which was reported to the Auburn campus safety and security team, happened on Sunday after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Miller Avenue and South College Street, which is located outside the eastern edge of the Auburn campus.

“The survivor stated that he was walking towards the campus from Gay St[.] when an unknown male pushed her down, climbed on top of her, and grabbed her back,” campus police said in a warning Sunday.

When a pedestrian intervened during the incident, the suspect fled the scene, according to the campus alert.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is described as a “black male with shoulder-length dreadlocks, slim build, approximately 6′ tall, no beard or glasses, wearing a yellow shirt and dark pants,” police said in an alert.

Auburn authorities are investigating the attack.
