Where it should be! The actor has been making the rounds collecting awards for Elvis and the more questions are asked about the role, the more she rejects the idea that Hudgens was there from the beginning using her love and light to cast this role for her.
The actor had told a story about wanting this role years before it happened and how his “friends” were so passionate about it. “There was an Elvis Christmas song on the radio, and I was singing along, and my friend looked at me and said, ‘You have to play Elvis!'” he recalled.
Later in the story, he goes on to say, “The same friend is there, and I’m playing the piano,” he continued. “He said, ‘I’m serious – you need to figure out how you can get the rights to the script …'” Again, he calls her “friend” and doesn’t make her sound like a girl at all. .

Now Austin is eating his words while chatting with Los Angeles Times. He admits, his “friend” is his ex-girlfriend Hudgens. “I was with my partner at the time,” she admitted “We’ve been together for a long time and she had this moment of self-doubt and so I really, I owe her a lot for trusting me.” Ah, yes, you do.
The actors dated for almost ten years and Hudgens was always the more successful one. The confession is a big deal because she seems to be trying to erase any traces of Hudgens from her life even though she needs to remember the story in a way that’s easy for her.

The High School Musical the actor shared his version of the story in 2019 while co-hosting Stayed with Kelly and Ryan. “Last December, we were driving together, and we were listening to Christmas music, and then Elvis Presley’s Christmas song came on,” she told Ryan.
“She just dyed her hair dark. He was a natural blonde, and I saw him and him singing together, and I was like, ‘Honey, you have to play Elvis.’”
The couple broke up a year later in 2020. When Hudgens got wind of Austin trying to dissuade her from the original story of her getting this role, she jumped on the bandwagon of people mocking her for still having an Elvis accent.

A fan commented on Austin’s accent while accepting his Golden Globe award, he shared a Lady Gaga meme House of Gucci and her endless accent, the user captioned the video, “She went to Lady Gaga’s Oscar campaign acting school.”
Vanessa saw this, shared it, and added her own comment, “crying”. That one word comment spoke volumes to his followers and anyone who has seen what Austin did to him.
Now that the actor is finally being honest about his “friend”, maybe people will stay away from him!
