In a recent interview with “Today With Hoda And Jenna,” Butler had a phone conversation with the talk show host shortly after he was nominated for Best Actor for his performance as legendary singer Elvis Presley in the movie “Elvis.”

When asked by the host how he felt about his nomination considering the film he starred in was based on the life of the late musician and his family, including the late Lisa, who he had a close relationship with during the filming of the film, he had some heartwarming words to say.

Referring to the late singer, she said, “It’s kind of bittersweet now because I think about how much I wish he was here right now to celebrate with me.”

Commenting further on how she feels about her father, Elvis, she added, “It’s the same thing I feel with Elvis; I hope they can see these moments, you know? It’s a little strange to celebrate at a time of such deep sadness.”

“The Carrie Diaries” actress, who seems to have so much emotion attached to her voice, sweetly summed up her thoughts by saying, “But I think of it as a way to honor her. This is for her.”

Lisa Marie’s death seems to have left a permanent scar on the friends, loved ones, and lives she impacted in one way or another while she was on earth.

According to The Blast, the “Elvis” actor who was privileged enough to meet and share a relationship with the “Dirty Laundry” singer mourned his loss with emotional words.

Butler, who plays “Elvis” released a statement about the heartbreaking news, saying, “My heart is absolutely broken for Riley, Finley, Harper, and Priscilla” – the children of the late singer and his famous mother.

She continued, “I am forever grateful that I was lucky enough to be near her bright light, and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, love, and authenticity will always be remembered.”

Another prominent person in the film happens to be the director, Baz Luhrmann, who also wrote a touching message on his Instagram page and posted a photo of Lisa Marie smiling sincerely while in Butler’s company.

Describing how she felt about his death, she wrote in her caption, “Over the past year, the entire Elvis movie family and I have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s warm embrace. His sudden and shocking loss has devastated people around the world.”

Olivia DeJonge, who plays the late singer’s mother, Priscilla Presley, in the film, also shared sweet words about Lisa Marie on her Instagram story. He described the late singer as having an “incredible presence.”

It seems fans have had enough of Butler talking like the late Elvis, and they’re voicing their displeasure on social media.

As previously reported, the California native had hysterical fans after giving his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes for winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his portrayal of Elvis. During his speech, his familiar voice was overshadowed by the new accent he learned for the film. And fans were quick to call him out on Twitter.

One despairingly wrote, “Austin Butler has one more chance to cover Elvis, I swear to God.” Another sarcastically pointed out, “#AustinButler wants us to believe this is his natural voice.”
