Echard also opens up about the experiences that can come from fame and what can happen when that fame wears off.

He touched on how the release of dopamine has played a role in his relationship with fame, and how he began to experience sadness when the whirlwind of fame began to slow down.

“I’m no longer a ‘hot commodity’ and even though I say I’m fine with that, I can’t help but feel sad. I want to get back to normal, but getting back to normal is hard to get back when you’ve experienced unbelievable things,” Echard wrote in his Instagram post on his iPhone.

Feelings of inadequacy had plagued Echard for a long time in his life.

The now-single Echard posted a childhood photo on the ‘gram Thursday, where she went into more detail about how she didn’t know the source of where the unresolved pain kept coming from. He was still a teenager when he started experiencing mental health problems.

Captioning the set of photos, Echard wrote, “Most of my life I struggled with self-confidence, feelings of inadequacy and self-love, but I wasn’t sure where these feelings came from for so long… until I started looking back at my past, ” he began.

“I think a lot of my pain stems from unresolved trauma from my childhood. For so long, I believed I could run away from it, and eventually, time would heal and I would forget my pain,” explained Echard. “But that’s not how it works. Many of us face issues today that start when we’re children and the only way we’ll ever truly overcome these struggles is if we finally deal with what we’ve been suppressing all along,” he continued.
