Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby called it quits after the two fell in love on the last season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Allio confirmed the news earlier this week on the Trade Secrets podcast — however, Maltby accused her of dumping him just a day after her egg retrieval surgery.
Now, the father of one is speaking out about the allegations.

The “Bachelor In Paradise” star opened up about her breakup with Michael Allio on “The WoMed” podcast, where she accused her ex of dumping her just a day after her surgery.
“What’s hard to talk about is really not the procedure itself, it’s what happens afterwards,” Maltby said. “The day after Michael and I came home from freezing my eggs, he … he broke up with me and I was very, very blindsided by it. Clearly [I’m] still very emotional and hurt and confused. I still don’t have any answers. I’m in,” adding that “having to come off hormones while in complete shock” was difficult to handle. “[I was in] complete physical shock. I am completely blind.”
Maltby also raised Allio’s son, James, who he shared with his late wife, Laura. “I am sad to lose him. I’m grieving the loss of a future I truly believed in and I’m grieving the loss of James. And I mourn the loss of the security I felt with him for the first time.”
The “Bachelor In Paradise” star later admitted that Allio was “the first person who ever made me feel secure in a relationship, who made me feel like I was enough.”
She said that now that Allio has broken up with her, and now that her safety with him has been “taken away”, looking back on her egg retrieval surgery is “very difficult”. “I am very proud of myself [in that moment]. Michael took great care of me. It was a weekend full of love,” explained Maltby. “I was able to freeze eight eggs. Which I am very grateful for now because now I am alone.”

Now, Allio himself addressed the allegations.
“Before this [Danielle] moving up I told him I wanted to be very clear about where I was and I told him I was out of place and couldn’t fathom a place in the future where I could have children. I am very focused on raising my child [James],” Allio said in his Instagram Story. “I said, ‘It’s a shame you have to move here and go through this relationship knowing you’re probably not going to have kids with me. And I felt really bad saying that because I knew he always wanted them. But I had to be honest about where I was. . … The idea of welcoming another child, for me, I can’t do it. It doesn’t fit into my lifestyle.”
She also claimed Maltby didn’t do the “whole egg-freezing thing, for me,” adding that she thought Maltby might have hoped that while they were dating, the eggs would “be used for the child we had together, but it didn’t happen that way.” .”
