In fact, they’ve seen recent rumors about their relationship, and found them quite… flattering!
James and Rachael Kirkconnell met and fell in love during James’ season of “The Bachelor” which aired in fall 2020.
James, 31, did indeed find lasting love with Kirkconnell, but his season of “The Bachelor” may be best remembered as the season that ultimately led to the franchise’s longtime host, Chris Harrison, stepping down from his post.

The Bachelor Nation saw the couple decide not to get engaged at the end of the on-screen season; however, the couple decided to part ways for a while amidst the controversy that was going on at the time. When this season’s “After The Final Rose” special aired, the two had broken up.
A photo of Kirkconnell, now 26, from 2018 appeared showing the graphic designer attending an antebellum southern college party. Harrison famously defended Kirkconnell’s actions in an interview with Rachel Lindsay, who was the only Black ‘Bachelor’ in the franchise at the time.
The couple reunited in the spring of 2021, (per People), and now regularly flaunt their foodie side on Instagram. They both regularly review restaurants and try new foods that fans can see in James’ often posted reels.
However, if one is spotted too many times without the other, some Bachelor Nation devotees have their radar up, wondering if they’re quietly calling it quits.
Reports Started Circulating About The Couple’s Relationship Earlier This Summer
The two’s social media posts together are so frequent that fans notice each other’s absence.
After a series of photos on James’ feed without Kirkconnell, he posted a reel of the two reviewing a pasta restaurant in New York City. According to Life and Style, this may be the couple’s way of quietly acknowledging the rumours.
One fan would acknowledge the rumors in their comments on the reel, writing “I’m so relieved to see you all together even though I thought you were all done. My heart can’t take it”
Now, Kirkconnell has publicly acknowledged the rumours, speaking to Us Weekly.

In a comment on a photo Kirkconnell shared from seven weeks ago, a follower shared their thoughts on the couple’s rumored split.
“Glad to see you posting more alone despite people’s questions. Women are more than their proximity to men. I’m here to single your personality era or not ??”
The reality star turned influencer may not be in her ‘single girl season’, and she also doesn’t seem fazed by fans’ curiosity.
“I think we’ve been through so much at this point that nothing really affects us,” Kirkconnell explained to the outlet. “I get it- because we’re together so whenever our schedules don’t work out or whenever we have our own business, I know where people are coming from. I think a lot of it comes from a place of love,” she continued to share. “It seems like people are worried because they really like us as a couple. So, in a way, it’s kind of flattering…”
Kirkconnell also shared that it was easy for her to forget there was an outside presence witnessing her relationship with James.
“But also, at the end of the day,” he continued, “we’re normal people [in] normal relationship. It’s kind of crazy sometimes when you see, you know, how invested people are. In such a fast way too. You’re like, ‘It’s been a week! I haven’t posted in, like, eight days, take a break!”
Clarifying their relationship status probably won’t stop fans from asking when the couple will take the next step: marriage!
Kirkconnell posted an Instagram carousel two weeks ago, featuring photos of the couple attending a wedding. The comments section was soon filled with questions about when the pair would take the plunge!
