Badrul Islam was born into a Muslim family in India. When he was a child, he watched the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Sholay’ after which he got attracted to films and decided to become an actor. He studied at Jamia Milia Islamia in Delhi. While studying in college, he used to participate in street plays during cultural events. He also went to Haryana to perform in a village, where he won the best actor title. Later, he joined the Shri Ram Center for Performing Arts in New Delhi and also worked at the National School of Drama in New Delhi.

Before working in TV and film, Badrul Islam started his acting career by working in theatre. He has acted in many theater productions.

In 2005, she debuted with Sahara One’s drama TV series ‘Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki’ where she played the supporting role of Rangeela.
From 2018 to 2020, he played Mustafa in Sony Sab’s fantasy TV series ‘Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga.’ In 2023, he was cast in the lead role as Bheem Dubey in the Colors TV show ‘Suhaagan.’
