Career
Bala Hasan made his acting debut with the film “Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru,” in 2016. The neo-noir crime thriller featured Bala in the role of Prem for which he received huge critical acclaim. After gaining success from her debut film, she next appeared in Vetrimaaran’s Tamil-language action drama film “Asuran.” Bala plays the role of Rajesh Narasimman in the film. The film features Dhanush and Manju Warrier, Ken Karunas, Teejay Arunasalam, Pasupathy, Prakash Raj, Ammu Abirami, and Balaji Sakthivel in mainstream roles. The film is among the ten Indian films to be screened under the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards (2021).
In 2020, Bala Hasan appeared on screen in a supporting role in the action crime film “Mafia: Chapter 1.” Bala plays the role of Varun, a Narcotics Control Bureau Officer in Allirajah Subaskaran’s film produced and directed by Karthick Naren. Bala got a breakthrough in his career after being cast in the Tamil-language legal drama film “Jai Bhim.” Jai Bhim is basically a slogan or greeting used by followers of Indian scholar and social reformer Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. The film is based on a true incident in 1993 involving a legal case fought by Judge K. Chandru on behalf of Senggeni, a member of the Irular tribal community, seeking justice for her husband, Rajakannu, who went missing from the police station. Bala plays a constable named Kirubakaran opposite Suriya, Lijomol Jose, K. Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and many others.
