Balenciaga Designer Demna Admits BDSM Ad ‘Inappropriate’ With Kids, Nothing About Quitting!

The Balenciaga disaster continues. This time Demna, a designer for Brand apologizes on his behalf, whatever that means.

Demna Issues Public Apology

The designer, who has worked with the brand since 2015, made it clear that he disagreed with their latest advertising campaign and even apologized for being associated with the brand. The brand faced a backlash after featuring young children in their campaign holding teddy bears dressed in slavery.

“Personal Message,” opened Demna before jumping into her lengthy apology. “I would like to apologize personally for the wrong choice of artistic concept for the gifting campaign with children and I take my responsibility,” he wrote.

“It is inappropriate for children to promote objects that have nothing to do with them,” he admitted. “Although I sometimes want to provoke thought through my work, I NEVER intend to do so with such a horrific subject as the child abuse I denounce. Period.”

Demna Takes This As A Learning Experience

The designer goes on to admit the experience has humbled him in some ways. “I need to learn from this, listen and engage with child protection organizations to find out how I can contribute and help in this terrible subject.”

He again apologized to those who had been affected by the brand’s insensitive display. “I apologize to anyone offended by the visual and Balenciaga has assured that adequate measures will be taken not only to avoid similar mistakes in the future but also to take responsibility in protecting the welfare of children in every way we can. Sincerely Demna.”

He also scrubbed his IG page so the only message that came up was an apology.

Demna Is Separating

Demna also posted an apology on her IG Stories and didn’t mention Balenciaga in her bio anymore, something that was definitely there before when she was promoting her Lays chip purse and famous Balenciaga designs.

One thing that worries us a bit is that he didn’t mention whether he plans to work with the brand in the future. Yes, he condemned their actions but at the end of his apology, he also said, “protect the welfare of children at all costs WE can” does this mean he will stay and will design with them in the future?

This apology gave Kim Kardashian flip-flop vibes. Balenciaga also issued two apologies earlier this week and last week. “We would like to address the controversy surrounding our recent ad campaign,” claimed the label’s second apology.

“We strongly condemn child abuse; we never intended to include it in our narrative. The two separate ad campaigns in question reflect a series of egregious mistakes for which Balenciaga is responsible.”

Jason Aldean and his wife Brittney posted a video of themselves throwing their Balenciaga gear in the trash, others like Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham are burning their clothes. Kim Kardashian claims to be re-evaluating her relationship with the brand.

After a lot of backlash, he also shared that he has been pushing the campaign with them since the drama started.
