The former Jackass star was voluntarily detained this weekend after he was found acting out of character at a Taco Trejo location in Los Angeles. TMZ first reported the public crisis on Sunday evening.
Margera was approached by the police, who were called to the scene by members of the public concerned by his slurred speech and demeanor. Suicide threats have been made by Margera recently, so this is a big deal.
So, coupled with this behavior, the authorities were too concerned to leave him on the street that might disturb pedestrians and other people eating tacos at Danny Trejo’s restaurant. Police called in a psychiatric team who deemed him unwell and in need of evaluation.
72 Hours Until Bam Margera is Released

Margera 5150 can last up to 72 hours if the doctor needs to hold it that long. The professional skater has been silent since then, and it is unclear whether he is still in custody or has been released and taken to the streets.
On Sunday, the surfer’s brother, Jess Margera, tweeted a plea for help in locating Bam. By evening, Jess had tweeted that her brother had been found but didn’t offer any details about what was going on and how her brother was when he was found, especially after what she revealed about Bam.
“They found him safe ? he texted me and my parents at 6am this morning saying he loves us, he loves Phoenix, and he’s calm,’ and he took enough pills to stop his heart,” she wrote. The tweet continued. “And some heartbreaking dark banter. Thanks to everyone who shared information today.”
Bam Margera Threatens To Get High

Just last week, Margera made public claims that he had no problem getting high until he overdosed unless he could see the 5-year-old son he shares with his wife, Nicole Boyd.
“I haven’t seen Phoenix in two damn months,” he said. “I have to wake up every day knowing I might not be able to talk to him or see him.” He continued. “I’ll smoke with a bum on a f–king boardwalk until I die unless you send me a f–king Phoenix. Go to work, Nikki or anyone who wants to help. I want Phoenix.”
At the time, Boyd’s attorney said he “really hopes that Bam can achieve and then maintain sobriety, for his sake, and for the sake of their son.”

Boyd’s attorney reveals that being an addict has taken its toll on Margera, but he’s not surprised that this is the outcome. “Unfortunately, that’s not how addiction works. People’s behavior does not encourage others to drink.”
The pair appeared on Bam’s Unholy Union together, but once the show ended, the pair’s relationship was plagued by allegations of abuse. Domestic abuse, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse.
Boyd filed for legal separation from Bam in February. The former figure skater has been to rehab several times and escaped each time so far. In March, she accused him of kicking her and was arrested. A few weeks later, he was arrested again for public intoxication.
