Former “Jackass” star and stuntman Bam Margera has faced a loss in court as his estranged wife Nicole Boyd has been granted temporary custody of their son, Phoenix.
The couple has been embroiled in a legal battle since Boyd filed for separation from Margera and requested full custody of Phoenix in February.
Margera, who was recently cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, also filed for joint custody of her son Phoenix, claiming she is now doing better with her sobriety. At the time, she claimed that Boyd did everything he could to keep her away from her son.

The “Jackass” star’s wife Margera has been granted temporary custody of their 5-year-old son following a legal battle between the two.
According to a legal document obtained by TMZBoyd has been given primary legal and physical custody of Phoenix, while Margera’s access to her son has been limited to FaceTime calls only.
Tuesday’s ruling saw Boyd appear physically in court while Margera appeared virtually.
Margera will now have the right to FaceTime Phoenix for 20 minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 30 minutes on Sundays. According to the news outlet, Boyd was barred from monitoring calls between the father and son.
As previously reported by Explosion, Boyd filed for separation from Margera in February and requested full custody of Phoenix. He also requested that Margera be given supervised visits.
The court document reads in part, “I request supervised visitation (parenting time) for the following persons, with the following restrictions.” It continued, “With a professional monitor to be selected by the Respondent, but approved by the Petitioner‚ at the Respondent’s own expense.”

Last month, Margera revealed that she had made significant progress with her sobriety and that she was undergoing therapy. The professional skateboarder cited this as the reason why he should be granted joint custody with Phoenix, per TMZ.
Speaking to the news outlet, Margera claimed that his estranged wife wanted to remove him from his son’s life by painting him as a “gunman”. She said, “It’s so hard being in California knowing my son is in Burbank and you know, I could hug him in 10 minutes if I wanted to but he’s haunting my calls.”
At the time, Margera explained that it had been “months” since she had access to Phoenix, noting that Boyd was trying to make her look bad even though she had an eight-year-old child in her care.
“I take care of an eight-year-old child named Isabel. I live with him, I can take him to the movies and take him to the park, but when it comes to Phoenix…” Margera said, adding, “I’ve never carried a knife or shot a gun…”

In conversation with TMZ, Boyd contrasted Margera’s claims and clarified her stance on the issue, saying that her husband’s estranged behavior was “terrifying.” He states that he has to prioritize their son and protect him.
When asked about Margera’s efforts to get sober, Boyd said, “I haven’t seen anything really consistent, and he has to really want it, and I haven’t seen it yet. And yes, I’m afraid I’ll get that phone call…”
She also spoke about her ex’s behavior, saying, “It’s scary, his behavior is so scary, and automatically I would choose our son. And he had put us in some very dangerous situations where I had to get us out. Yeah, so it’s scary.”
Explosion reported in June that Boyd claimed Margera “held a knife to his own throat and yelled threats at [her].” In legal court documents, he also stated that he tried to support Margera while he was in rehab despite the alleged knife incident.

Amidst his ongoing court battle with Boyd, Margera still has frequent run-ins with law enforcement.
He was recently arrested for allegedly being drunk in public. follow TMZOn Wednesday morning, Margera was arrested after officers caught him yelling while arguing with a woman outside the Radnor Hotel.
Sources for the news outlet claimed Margera slurred his words and reeked of alcohol. The filmmaker was issued a citation for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being taken to the police station. He was reportedly released after contacting his friend.
