Singer
After the death of his father, he decided to make his dream come true. He began to actively participate in youth festivals and music competitions at school. He started singing in small events. Later, he started posting his singing videos on Facebook where he sang covers of songs, and some of them went viral. He started getting offers to sing from many Punjabi music artists and labels.

After debuting in 2018, he released his second song, “Akhiyan,” in 2019, written by Preet Hundal. He learned music from Preet Hundal, who is a Punjabi singer, music director, and lyricist. He produced the music and wrote the lyrics for his debut song, “Meriyan Saheliyan.” Later, he was signed by the company Gold Media Entertainment.

In 2020, he released multiple songs where he worked with popular Punjabi artists including Guru Randhawa, Sidhu Moosewala, Prem Dhillon and more. The first song she sang in 2020 was “Ajj Kal Ve,” which is a female version of a song from famous Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s album “Snitches Get Stitches.” His second song, “Teri Gali,” peaked at number 6 on both the UK Asian Music Chart Top 40 and the Official Punjabi Music Chart Top 20. Later, his song “Liv In” with singer-lyricist Prem Dhillon peaked at number 30 on the UK Asian Music Chart and 15th on the YouTube chart in Canada.

On March 12, 2021, Barbie released her first song of the year titled “Viah,” which has garnered over 20 million views on YouTube. In 2021, Barbie was featured in the music video of the song “Moh” with Sidhu Moose Wala. He is also a fan of Sidhu Moosewala’s work. In an interview, talking about the overall experience of working with him on the song, he said,

Controversy
Promoting Gun Culture in Music Videos
On 1 December 2020, the song “Jaan” by Barbie Maan featuring Shree Brar was released, which got over 16 million views on YouTube. Punjabi singer, lyricist and composer Shree Brar has been arrested. A case was filed against Shree Brar, Babie Maan, and others who were in the video under Sections 294 (punishment for obscene act in any public place) and 504 (Deliberate insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) for promoting ‘arms api’ culture’ through the song. The music video of the song was found to have controversial content.
