‘Beauty & The Beast’ Star Angela Lansbury Dies 5 Days Before Her 97th Birthday

Acclaimed actress Angela Lansbury has died.

The star is best known for her roles in “Murder She Wrote,” “Beauty In The Beast” as Mrs. Potts, the singing teapot, and “Mary Poppins Returns.”

His family announced the passing of the 96-year-old man.

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are saddened to announce that their mother passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1.30am today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022,” the statement said.

It also noted that Lansbury was “just five days shy of his 97th birthday.”

Lansbury, the British-born star, is a highly decorated actor with several awards from the BAFTAS, Tonys and Academy Awards.

He won an honorary Academy Award in 2014, a BAFTA in 1991 for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, a BAFTA/LA Britannia Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television and Film. He also won five Tony Awards.
