Becky Lynch started her job as a flight attendant with Aer Lingus for two and a half years after graduating. After leaving his job in 2002, he started training for wrestling with his brother. In November 2002, she made her professional wrestling debut as Rebecca Knox. In his early career, he wrestled as part of a mixed tag team with his brother.
He then went on to train with the British Professional Wrestling Promotion in NWA UK Hammerlock. She then worked as an independent circuit until 2013, starting in 2005. During that time, she wrestled for Canadian SuperGirls Wrestling, All Pro Wrestling and Fight Factory Pro Wrestling. In 2013, he signed a two-year deal with WWE and performed under the WWE NXT brand. After his contract expired in 2015, he was promoted to the RAW main roster as a fan favorite.
