DJ Envy, Known for his outspoken opinions, recently blamed Beyoncé for the lackluster sales of Chloe Bailey’s debut album, “In Pieces.”

Bailey, who is signed to Beyoncé’s famous Parkwood Entertainment, released her album on March 31 to much excitement from her fans. However, its performance fell short of expectations, selling only 10,000 units in its first week and debuting at No. 119 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Fans use Twitter to express their opinions. A user ask, “Not to be funny, but I really want to know what’s the point of Beyoncé signing Chloe?.” They continued, “Like, is it to see? So that someone can be under it? I don’t understand, because how you let your artist drop an album & you didn’t support him once & now he’s selling 10k.”

Other users write, “Beyoncé is bad for not promoting Chloe’s album; a simple IG repost would probably give Chloe a top 50 debut. Mind you, if this was Nicki’s artist, they would drag her to hell and back.”

However, Charlamagne and Rodriguez had opposing views, saying it was unfair to blame Beyoncé. Defending the Queen Bee, Charlamagne said, “I think Beyoncé should post because that’s her artist, but Beyoncé isn’t obligated to post.” Calling out the hypocrisy, he added, “Besides, Beyoncé used to air Ivy Park all the time and y’all ain’t buying it.”

He then concluded by urging people to support the album, saying, “If Beyoncé’s post is going to get you all to buy the album, great, but the reality is, if you didn’t know Chloe’s album was out, you know now, so go buy the album he.”

Rodriguez also responded to the criticism, stating that “the people who say that Beyoncé should post … I want them to show proof that they bought the album. Are you in that 10,000?”
