Beyonce’s childhood home in Houston burns down on Christmas

Beyoncé’s childhood home caught fire in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Houston firefighters said they received a call about the fire at the star’s former home on Rosedale Street in the city’s Third Ward shortly after 2 a.m.

When crews arrived about three minutes later, they found the second floor of the three-story home already on fire, ABC 13 reported.

Pictures and video from the scene showed flames bursting out of windows as firefighters entered the smoke-filled premises and families who lived there looked on in shock.

Crews even had to cut through the roof of the home to clear the attic before they could get the fire under control, according to Click 2 Houston.

“They did a great job,” Fire District Chief Justin Barnes told ABC 13. “I would say, in less than 10 minutes, we were able to get this fire under control very well.”

No injuries were reported, and the family – the couple and their two young children still in their Christmas pajamas – evacuated the house before firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Beyoncé’s parents bought the home for $64,000 in 1981 — the same year the iconic musician was born, but they moved out just a few years later, before Solange Knowles was born in 1986, according to TMZ.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home with a spiral staircase leading to the office on the third floor went on sale in 2019.

Although there have been many owners since the Knowleses owned the house, to this day fans of the “Single Woman” singer consider the house an iconic Houston landmark.
