The Biden administration has allowed 99% of immigrants crossing the border since 2021 — more than two million people — to stay in the country according to a new Congressional report released by House Republicans on Monday.
The report found that “at least” 2,148,738 illegal aliens had been released into the United States by the Department of Homeland Security since Joe Biden took office through March 31, 2023.
Of those, only a fraction were properly vetted to test their asylum claims, the study said.
“Only six percent of illegal aliens released into the United States have been screened for fear of persecution [in their home country] for asylum purposes,” read the study initiated by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock.
The report found only 5,993 illegal immigrants tapped for deportation were ever actually seen by an immigration judge and then removed from the country, according to the bombshell report.

“This data is contradictory[s] Secretary Mayorkas’ statement that the southwest border is closed and illegal immigrants are ‘quickly’ removed,” he said.
“In contrast, with more than 99 percent of illegal aliens living in the United States after being released by the Biden Administration, there is virtually no enforcement of our immigration laws.”
The report also states that due to the large number of people crossing illegally into the US, overwhelmed officers are often unable to fully complete their duties.
It states: “Due to the unprecedented border crisis, some Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have been forced to abandon the arrest and removal of aliens, including criminal aliens, to process illegal aliens who have arrived at the western border power.”

Meanwhile, thousands of migrants continue to cross the southern border every day.
In a sparsely populated rural California town, migrants are sent by people smugglers and only enter the US through a gap in the border wall, according to reports.
Immigrants from various countries are gathering at arid Jacumbo Hot Springs – about 75 miles east of San Diego – and sneaking into the country as overwhelmed border agents look on.
“The agents were involved and they were very frank about the fact that this was not their job, this was not what they were prepared to do, they were never set up to do something like this,” said Samuel Schultz, a staff member with a migrant aid organization. “They were slammed.”

Schultz told Border Report immigrants stopped at the border wall and waited until they could enter the United States.
“You can see the dust cloud on the road south of the border, you know it’s coming,” he said. “It’s ebb and flow, 600 one day, then 300 the next, then back to 600, it’s up and down.”
Instead of trying to stem the tide of illegal immigrants, border agents stepped in to manage the influx at Jacumbo, according to the report.

They prioritize women and children to come in and prepare them for transport to a border facility about 30 miles away.
Migrants are often camped out in searing temperatures until their opportunity to be interviewed and processed arrives, after which most are released to the US to continue their asylum cases.
Jacumbo became a popular destination for border crossings in May, attracting thousands of immigrants as Title 42 deportation laws neared expiration.
Migrant advocates have criticized processing facilities in the area as harsh “detention” camps, prompting a backlash from border officials this week.

“US Border Patrol, Sector San Diego is currently experiencing irregular levels of migration between official ports of entry,” the agency said in a statement.
“This level of migration is driven by criminal smuggling organizations that continue to exploit the vulnerable migrant population for profit. To address current migration patterns, Sector San Diego Border Patrol leverages all available resources to encounter, transport and process migrants as quickly and expeditiously as possible while maintaining other important border security priorities.”
After the end of the pandemic-era Title 42 measures in May, the Biden administration said it would get tougher on immigration and only allow people into the country who have sponsors and paperwork and who have completed forms and made appointments through a phone app.
However, it quickly realized that was not the case and unprecedented levels of migrants arriving at the US border seeking asylum have continued since then.
Finally beginning to wake up to the crisis, the Biden administration last week said it would waive 26 laws to build 20 miles of the border wall initiated by President Trump, citing the “acute and urgent need to build physical and road barriers … preventing the entry of illegally into the United States.”
Plans were also announced to begin deporting people directly to Venezuela, the country where the majority of migrants come from.
