Death
On 25 May 2022, she was found hanging in her rented apartment in Nagerbazar, Dum Dum, Kolkata, by one of her friends, who immediately informed the local police. The local police later reached his apartment and sent his body to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, for post-mortem. Local police found a suicide note from the flat in which Bidisha wrote that she had cancer. During the investigation, one of Bidisha’s friends gave a statement where she talked about Bidisha’s depression due to her (Bidisha’s) troubled relationship with her boyfriend. He said,
She has a warm relationship with her boyfriend, something she talks about with her close friends. He was tense and depressed. We often try to cheer him up and encourage him to see the brighter side of life. He did well and got the assignment. But he never got over his relationship problems.”
