The daughter of the late actress Carrie Fisher, Billie Lourd, spoke publicly about the fact that Carrie’s brother, Todd Fisher, and sisters – Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher – made their invitation to the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Thursday.
The three brothers claimed they were not invited to the event. The sisters blamed daughter Carrie for the slight, while Todd said that he was told that Disney controlled the guest list.
However, with many family members speaking out against her, Billie has decided to come out with a rare public statement to address the statements made by her family after they, in her words, “attacked me publicly.”

The Hollywood Walk Of Fame website announced that Billie Lourd will receive the star at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard near the El Captain Theater at 11:30 a.m. local time on Thursday, May 4.

On Wednesday, the two brothers released a joint statement on Instagram along with several photos of the two sisters posing with Carrie. They began their lengthy statement, writing, “In response to all of you asking if we’ll be joining the festival or not….”
“It is strange that we will not be present to celebrate our sister, whom we adore. For some strange and perverted reason, our niece chose not to include us in this epic moment in our sister’s career,” they wrote. “This is something that Carrie would have wanted her siblings to be present for. The fact that her only brother and two sisters were intentionally and deliberately excluded was shocking.”

“We’ve all been grieving the loss of our loved one for several years now…we’ve given Billie the space to do it her way,” they continued. “We are nothing but loving and open, consistently. This isn’t about a photo op on Hollywood Blvd…it’s about celebrating the immortality of Carrie’s legacy in the industry, taking her place with the stars on the iconic journey of fame with our parents.”
