Two football fans were struck by cars in separate incidents outside Highmark Stadium on Monday, New York State law enforcement officials said, killing a 65-year-old man and seriously injuring a 36-year-old.
The 65-year-old man died from his injuries after emergency services tried to save his life just before 8:20 p.m. ET.
He was a resident of Rochester, New York, and was struck near Stadium Drive in Orchard Park, a suburb of Buffalo.
No suspects are in custody at this time, but New York State Police and Buffalo Police later found a vehicle believed to be involved.
The second man, who was also not identified by police, was hit by a car in a freak accident that authorities say was the pedestrian’s fault.
Police received a call around 10 p.m. ET about a mile from Highmark Stadium at the intersection of Abbott and Milestrip Roads.
