In honor of Steve Irwin Day, the “Crocodile Hunter” is being remembered by his family and fans around the world.
Steve’s children, Bindi and Robert, have taken to social media to share tributes to their late father on a day set aside for “wildlife’s greatest warrior.”
Celebrated on November 15 each year, Steve Irwin Day is a day to remember and honor the late “Crocodile Hunter.” According to National Today, November 15 was chosen as Steve Irwin Day because “it was the birthday of one of his favorite animals – Harriet, the giant tortoise from the Galapagos Islands.”
Robert Irwin Shares Loving Tributes on Steve Irwin Day

Robert, 19, shared a tribute video on Instagram for his dad with the caption, “Today, November 15th is Steve Irwin Day. A day to remember our father, the greatest Wildlife Warrior on the planet. He is a man who changed the world forever and continues to inspire the next generation.”
In the video, Steve is seen doing what he loves most, wildlife conservation and education.
“What I, Steve Irwin, want to be remembered for is to be remembered for passion and spirit. Conservation is my job, my whole persona, my life revolves around that,” Steve said in the video. “I get this incredible feeling that I’m sharing my wildlife encounters with you. Beautiful things. I never thought that would happen.”
He went on to talk about why he loves what he does and said, “If I can’t put animals into people’s hearts, it’s not conservation. They have absolutely no love for our wild animals and that would be devastating. Everything will suffer and this will be a very ugly world.”
The throwback video ends with Steve repeating, “By conserving wildlife, I’m helping humanity. That’s what I want to be remembered for.”
Within minutes of sharing the tribute, Robert’s post attracted a lot of attention with hundreds leaving comments about his late father.
“A commanding communicator whose passion radiated beyond boundaries, borders, languages and hemispheres… Generating momentum that continues to positively impact the world today. Congratulations to Steve Irwin!!” one person writes.
Another added, “He is truly remembered for these exact things. A successful man.”
Another Instagram user shared, “If Australia could be represented forever by one person, it should be him. The word “icon” does not cover it. It still breaks my heart to lose him.”
Bindi Irwin Also Shares Appreciation To Beloved Father

Bindi, 25, also took to Instagram to honor her father on Steve Irwin Day.
“November 15 • Steve Irwin Day. To the world, he will be remembered as the greatest Wildlife Warrior. To our family, he will be remembered as our world,” her caption read.
The comment section of his post also got a lot of attention within minutes of his tribute photo being shared.
“He would be so proud of what you and your family have become,” wrote one. Another added, “The world loves her and the world loves your beautiful family! Thank you for doing what you do every day. He’s proud of you- no doubt about it.”
