Kelly Rizzo recently moved into a new Los Angeles home, 20 months after her husband, comedian Bob Saget, died at the age of 65.

Describes his new home ownership status in an interview with New York Post, Rizzo, who currently competes on Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” admitted to ignoring Saget’s advice about home maintenance and the complexities of ownership. “I wish I had paid more attention when Bob told me all this [about home ownership],” he explained. “Like, ‘Hey, look at this, this is how plumbing works.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I don’t need to know that.’”

She now realizes that owning a house can be challenging, adding, “And I also wish I’d paid more attention every time Bob said that owning a house is a pain in the butt.”

She described her ongoing grief as “surreal”, adding, “Sometimes when it hits me, I’m like, ‘Wait. What happened?’ It still doesn’t make sense.” Rizzo continued, “The outpouring of love around Bob when everything happened … most people still say they’ve never seen anything like it, so it’s a testament to who he was and the impact he made on the world.”

During the chat, Rizzo also reminisced about his preparation for “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” where he joined a group of 13 contestants that included Jack Osbourne, JoJo Siwa, Savannah Chrisley, Tom Sandoval, Bode Miller, Nick Viall, Tara Reid, and Black Chyna.

He revealed that he had about ten days’ notice before he left for New Zealand to film and, as a result, had limited time to prepare for the challenging reality show.

Recalling how he prepared, Rizzo shared, per NYP“I watched Season 1, so I knew there was a lot of long distance running through interesting terrain with a cumbersome backpack, so I filled a backpack with almost 30 pint water bottles and would run up this hill in my neighborhood.”

He continued, “I would just run so fast up a steep hill that I would throw up and pass out.”

“When we got to New Zealand, they gave us our combat boots, so I had about a week or so to train first; I would run on the treadmill wearing combat boots,” he added.

Rizzo revealed he formed a strong bond with his fellow contestants on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” She specifically mentions her friendship with Jack Osbourne, who helps and shares her bed arrangements.

“Jack [Osbourne] very helpful and wonderful, and also, our cribs are facing each other, so every morning, we are the first ones to see each other,” she said. Bode Miller is another standout, with his vast knowledge of adventure.

Savannah Chrisley and JoJo Siwa also left a positive impression, with Siwa taking on a nurturing role. “JoJo is so wise beyond her years, and so mature for her age,” Rizzo praised. “She was like the matriarch of the group, always making sure we were on time and making sure our uniforms and kits looked the same.”

Rizzo emphasized the lack of indulgence during the show, highlighting the military-like conditions. “You really feel like you’re on a military base and are part of that world,” he explained. “You eat when they tell you to eat — the food is not good — and if you miss a meal, you starve; no vending machines or snack kitchens.”
