Shortly after informing the public of his decision to stop using Type 2 diabetes drugs for weight loss, the celebrity plastic surgeon revealed his intention to resume taking the drugs at a later date.

At the time, Terry claimed that he was using Mounjaro, which was a “superior version” of Ozempic, for his weight loss.

Terry chose the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on March 14, to reflect on his initial decision to quit Ozempic. When asked what he was like without using drugs, he said:

“How am I doing outside of Ozempic? I am fat and fat. There’s more to love, but I’ll tell you something: I don’t want to, but I plan to move on when it’s appropriate. It’s like we’re on vacation and after that I’ll be back. It’s like the new Botox, Ozempic. I like it. It was very good.”

“Botched” star entry to E! News‘ Francesca Amiker came after she described herself as “overweight and obese” for stopping the trendy drug.

Use of Ozempic by Dr. Terry Caused by Peer Pressure

Fans will recall that Terry initially revealed in January that he stopped taking Mounjaro because he experienced “low-grade nausea” while using it. In his words:

“I think it’s amazing. I don’t have a lot of weight to lose. But I want to try it because so many of my patients use it and I want to see what it’s like when you don’t have diabetes and you only have to lose 10 to 15 pounds.”

However, he recalled, “I thought, ‘You know, I kind of want to get my taste back.’ I want to be able to eat again because it really takes away my appetite and all the joy of eating.”

Terry went on to discuss the precautions he should take while using Ozempic, such as completely abstaining from alcohol. As reported by The Blast, the 65-year-old emphasized:

“You can’t drink on it. You have to be careful with alcohol because people are hospitalized with pancreatitis.”

Despite the side effects, Terry still hails Ozempic as an “amazing” drug, revealing, “I think it’s a miracle. The biggest breakthrough in the history of medicine.”

Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription drug to treat diabetes and is the brand name for semaglutide, which helps the brain maintain satiety and suppresses appetite.

Dr. Terry Dubrow Experienced Speech Difficulties Last Year

Before he temporarily stopped using Ozempic, Dr. Terry suffered the blow during a sudden medical emergency while dining at The Ivy in Los Angeles last August.

The Blast shared that even though the episode lasted less than a minute, his wife urged their son Nick to call 911. However, Terry, who insisted he was fine, was a little upset about the decision.

Paramedics arrived and checked his vitals, determining his condition was stable. Despite their assessment, Heather remains uneasy and insists on visiting the hospital – Terry’s offer is declined. In fact, the “Bridalplasty” star arranged for a car to take her home.
