Former actor Maitland Ward recently spoke about his career, especially how his time on the hit sitcom “Boy Meets World” affected his life and sexuality. During a recent interview, Ward claimed that the show “hindered” his “sexual exploration”, which he could reclaim when he ventured into the porn industry.
Ward’s “Boy Meets World” character, Rachel, appeared on the show in its later seasons and was portrayed as a beautiful roommate that the boys on the show wanted to be with. Ward said that being objectified and “sexualized” without realizing what was happening stole some of the “power” of her sexuality.

MEGA
During a recent interview with Yahoo Life, Ward shared some of his experiences from “Boy Meets World.” The 45-year-old former actor also spoke about how this experience influenced him so much that he eventually left the film industry for the porn industry.
In “Boy Meets World,” Ward played the role of Rachel McGuire from 1998 to 2000. She entered the show as a roommate of Cory Matthews’ brother Eric and eventually met Jack, Shawn Hunter’s brother, who also lived in the same apartment.
Ever since Ward’s character joined the show, she was objectified by the male characters, quickly becoming the subject of competition by Jack and Eric. The two men vie for the chance to meet their new, beautiful roommate, and Jack eventually wins.

During the interview, Ward explained that at the time of casting the show, Hollywood was in an era of praising female stars like Jessica Simpson for being presumed innocent. At the same time, the industry also expected her to portray the opposite in the show and wear sexy skimpy clothes.
He said the experience was very confusing for him as a young actor. Ward said, “Having to go to the producer’s office and try on underwear over and over again for scenes and for different setups was odd.”
Ward explained that at the time, he believed it was “the way you do things as an actor” even though they made him “uncomfortable.” He stated that he later realized that being “sexual” without fully realizing it took away some of the “power” of his sexuality.

The “White Chicks” actress also talked about how some of the higher-ups at “Boy Meets World” hold her to a very different standard of decency when she’s off the set of the show. Ward says, “If I’m on a show, like ‘Boy Meets World,’ I can be sexy. I can wear a sheet with little feathers on it in a nude picture that I have of my boyfriend — it’s fine.”
She continued, “If I had ever dressed like that, or done something indecent like that in real life, Disney and the producers and Hollywood would have despised me.” In particular, the porn star called out the show’s creator, Michael Jacobs, and said he was “very adamant about me being a chaste and good girl.”

Maitland Ward Finds Freedom In The Porn Industry
MEGA
Ward revealed that she first considered moving into the porn industry after marrying her husband, Terry Baxter, in 2006. She began dabbling in the industry and quickly rose to the top adult content creator on Patreon. Soon after, he moved fully into making adult feature films.
However, Ward said it wasn’t just “Boy Meets World” that took advantage of his youth and sexuality. He says mainstream Hollywood itself is a big part of the problem and he found freedom from pressure when he started making adult films.
Ward said, “Hollywood is very difficult to age but I feel less of that stigma in porn. I have more fans who are coming along as I age and having sex.” She also said, “I’m not sorry about sex. I think it’s me in my truth. When I was young, I apologized a lot over the years. I’ll never apologize again.”
