Boyfriend of slain Instagram influencer Beauty Couch, 22, arrested for murder

The boyfriend of Instagram influencer Beauty Couch – whose body was found near a burning car in Georgia last week – has been arrested and charged with her murder.

Eugene Louis-Jocques, 21, was busted in Louisiana on Saturday, just three days after first responders found the body of 22-year-old Couch after putting out his burning car left on the side of the road in Austell, Ga., authorities said.

Louis-Jocques, of Naples, Florida, was named as a suspect in the case, and police arrested him as he traveled through St. Tammany Parish, La., local WWL-TV reported.

“Let the message be that we do not take kindly to people who think they can commit crimes elsewhere and try to hide in St. Tammany Parish,” Sheriff Randy Smith said in a statement.

“We are happy to assist our counterparts in Georgia by locating this suspect and bringing him into custody so that he can face justice and Miss Couch’s family can begin to receive closure during this difficult time.”

Couch, who is also visited by Beauty Katera, has more than 149,000 followers on Instagram, where she often shares videos of her dance moves while wearing roller skates.

She had her first skate class earlier this month and appeared to be referencing her boyfriend in her latest Instagram post featuring several bikini photos.

“She says I look good in red, might as well call me sexy red,” the caption read.

Couch’s sister, Leila Brown, told WWL-TV that she couldn’t imagine a reason why anyone would kill the influence.

“I can’t imagine her being in this situation at all because she’s so loving, so caring, so much fun, and so wonderful,” Brown said. “He impacted a lot of people and he didn’t do anything to anybody for anybody to want to do it like this.”

Louis-Jocques has been charged with murder, arson and aggravated assault.

He is being held at the St. Mary Parish Correctional Facility. Tammany pending extradition to Cobb County, Ga.

A representative for Louis-Jocques could not immediately be reached for comment.
