Brave homeowner fires at armed burglars pretending to be Seattle police: video

A Washington homeowner fired several shots and scared off a group of three armed burglars who tried to kick in the front door while pretending to be Seattle officers, police said.

Shocking surveillance video from Thursday morning showed three masked men arriving at a home at 117 PL SE, in Auburn.

The suspects can be seen using their jackets and gloves to avoid touching the screen door directly as one of them shouts, “Seattle Police.”

Another suspect, wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants, then tried to kick the front door down, with an accomplice, dressed in all dark colors, helping him.

When the door refused to budge, the men took turns slamming it with their shoulders.

As they continue to fail, gunshots are heard from inside the house.

The wannabe thief, however, ignored him as the third suspect tried his luck to break down the door.

Then, gunshots were heard from inside the house as the third man continued to try to kick in the door.

Just as the suspect was seen pointing his gun at the front door, the glass on the outside of the screen door was shattered by the homeowner’s gunfire, just inches from the suspect’s face.

The thief collapsed due to shock and fled the scene with other suspects.

Auburn police said they are still investigating the case and have reached out to the public to help identify the three thieves.

The case is reminiscent of when a Texas man was filmed in August opening fire on a pair of suspects who tried to break into his home while pretending to be maintenance workers trying to check on his air conditioner.

As in the Auburn incident, the burglar was caught on film trying to kick in the door until Ethan Rodriguez grabbed his gun and fired from inside his apartment through the front door – sending the man running.
