An off-duty Brazilian military police officer was caught on camera fatally shooting his wife after punching her five times in the face during a fight outside their car.
The shocking video shows Brazilian soldier Thiago de Lima, 36, allegedly firing at least two shots at his wife Erika de Lima, 33, before she fell to the ground during Sunday’s deadly battle, according to foreign news reports.
The couple were married for about six months which led to an argument in their car over the weekend, CNN Brasil reported.
Another part of the surveillance footage shows the woman struggling to get the man out of the vehicle before he got out himself and launched an attack on her, punching her several times.
After the attack and shooting, Thiago jumped back into the car and began to drive away, but then returned and tried to get the victim back into the car as residents exited their homes, footage shows.
He eventually took his partner to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, Brazilian outlet G1 reported.

He faces charges of murder of a woman, murder related to domestic and family violence and/or indifference or discrimination against women, according to the outlet.
About a month before the shooting, Erika reportedly filed a police report regarding the domestic violence threat, but chose not to pursue charges against her husband.

Erika claims that in the incident Thiago lashed out at her because he was jealous after the two left the nightclub, and pointed a gun at her head once they got home, G1 reported. Thiago reportedly denied pointing the gun at her or threatening her.
The victim left behind two daughters from a past relationship.
